VIII. overall personality. roy is a bit of a hero type; strong on justice, does what he thinks is right and no less, doesn't let anything stop him. the war he fought in [yes, the one that did coincidentally mentally scar him] is, honestly, his primary motivation for all that he tries to do. along with that his a headstrong side to him, too, and a good deal fo arrogance that makes up his outer shell. but just because he seems so charming and righteous doesn't mean he's unprovokable. don't push him, because he has a temper high and might to behold -- and trust me, you don't want to.

he's a to-the-end womanizer, and where he comes from he's known famously [or rather, infamously perhaps] as the man who dated almost every woman you could meet in the area. it was a shock to the few who managed to find out that the guy was actually bisexual, and most everyone was stunned when suddenly the dating torrent simply ended. why? well, roy would never admit to a pedophilic side, but it was a well-kept secret that he'd found a kid that he actually felt enough towards to stay with him loyally. not only that, but he's also extremelly protective of riley, and tends to try and look out for him, too.

aside from that, roy is well adept to quick adjustment and an expert tactician. teaching is his way of trying to do the better thing for the world [chemistry is his preferrable subject] but he also harbors an interest in alchemy -- something he doesn't much disclose. he's manipulative to a disturbingly well-practiced degree and does enjoy getting what he wants. however, he despises paperwork, and tends to procrastinate and be lazy when it comes to deskwork in particular. it does get done, though, because as ignorant as he can seem to be sometimes he does understand the importance of the damn stuff.

VI. history.roy remembers little of his parents, as they died when he was still young. so it was his father's younger sister, chris, who took him in and raised him. in his teenage years he began to delve into science under the supervision of a mentor. but upon turning eighteen, he left to join the military [partially motivated by the fact that his father was a fairly high-regarded military official before his death, and by his admittedly naive desire to do something to make a difference in the world]. it was his initial dream tho become a scientist for them; then war broke out and he never got the chance as they needed foot soldiers to fight -- that was where he was put without hesitation. so he lived horrible nightmares on the battlefield for years until their side had done enough damage to be satisfied, and they marched home in victory. but those years haunted him, and as soon as his contract was up he left the military and went to college to be a chemistry teacher. maybe, by going into education, he could to something to influence the generation that would soon be in charge of the world.

an angel with six crimson-colored wings [resembling, to roy at least, the reminiscence of flame]. her hair is shoulder-length blond, with bangs sweeping to her left side and the back clipped back with a brown clip. her eyes are a brown that glisten auburn. her ears are pierced and nearly always don silver studs. upon her back is a complex and ornate tattoo that reprensents flame in the alchemic context. she has quite the well-disciplined personality -- quiet with a serious demeanor, a sharp sense of humor, and rational personality. she appears to be cold and distant, due to her rigid, strict, and at times blunt demeanor, as well as a sharp tongue, but below that she holds the burden of the tattoo on her back that brought her into roy's service. she sees that he could sue flame as something good, so she hopes to aid him in that feat. she's an excellent example of "tough love", but when you earn that she has a deep trust and remarkable sense of loyalty, particularly towards roy.
