II. body type. keith’s build would seem to be quite muscular, however he is quite skinny due to being horribly underweight for unknown reasons.
III. height & weight. keith stands at five foot six inches, and weighs about six stone five pounds.
IV. eyes. he has the oddest of eyes, due to them changing colour either slowly or almost suddenly, and they never reflect his mood.
V. hair. his hair reaches past his ears in a wavy/curly style, coloured blonde.

• keith is afraid of the ‘blackened angel’ who apparently watches him, convinced that it is going to kill him eventually. he keeps it secret in fear it will kill him faster.
  
• he hides the fact that he inflicts self-harm upon himself and takes oxycontin painkillers.

VII. other.

• keith hears voices in his head, and while it is partly due to his schizophrenia, some of the voices are because he is able to see what people’s guardians are before they appear to the person, but he is unable to tell people about their guardian.

VIII. overall personality. completely and utterly temperamental. is he, though? keith is quite an odd person, not very social at all and in fact rather solitary and independent. he’s slightly pessimistic in his mind and has not yet uttered many negative things aloud. keith can be quite a casanova, but once he settles down for a lover he will become loyal. he’s a good guy most of the time, yeah, but fear and the majority of the voices in his head have corrupted him inside, making him a ‘psychotic freak’ of sorts, violent to the core and vengeful and stubborn and seemingly ‘innocent’. he makes for a brilliant madman at times, but his true side is just caged.

inside, keith is a caring soul, pessimistic still and protective over those he knows are his friends, innocent and ready to strike like a snake if his life or friends are threatened. he’s creative, too, a fan of writing songs but not with enough motivation to try and get into the music business, and at times he can be mischievous. he’s mature, too, but every once in a while he will do a childish gesture. other than the true side being that, keith is actually ever so slightly temperamental, suffering fear and trying to fight away the animal that he is slowly becoming.

VI. history. an unfortunate orphan, keith was born on the eve of the new year, born at exactly eleven fifty-nine pm. his mother died in childbirth, and due to his father being in the army and away in another country, keith’s uncle, owen gray, was at his mother’s side as she died, and he took keith home to him; ian’s wishes, he would not have his child be stuck in an orphanage. so, keith grew up at his uncle’s home, however he didn’t see his uncle much, despite promises of him coming home to see the boy. due to this keith grew to be quite independent.

only a month after his eighth birthday, owen returned home after a supposed week long trip with news of his father being killed in battle. though keith didn’t know his father well he knew who he was, and his job, and admired the man for being brave enough to step onto the field of war (ian did come back from various countries to pop in on keith and owen). the news struck keith to the core and despite not knowing the military man he felt a large amount of grief pulling over him, eventually leading him into depression and self-harm, persuaded by a mysterious voice in the back of his head. despite liking the pain keith didn’t want it to show on his face and started taking various amounts of painkillers, which only strengthened the voice and started to make him see some sort of shadow in the corner of his eye.

his eleventh birthday was mostly better than the rest. owen came home after a four day trip with a grin on his face (which was quite normal, but the grin was happier) and he took keith up to his room, where he told him, “it’s time for you to learn about magic.” confusion flooded keith’s eyes but it was soon relaxed as owen continued speaking, telling him what magic was, the story of it, the last accounts of it, the rebirth of it in this world, alexandra moen and the guardians. it was when it was decided that keith would move to curator academy into year two in the next year. to make the day better, owen went out for a few hours, coming back with a siberian husky to keep the shattered soul company. owen didn’t know of keith’s depression and self-harm.

november ninth of the year two-thousand and eight, one month and twenty-two days before his twelfth birthday, was a memory that would stick with him forever. he was chatting enthusiastically to the man, but then owen froze and turned his head, looking to the window. keith instinctively moved to the side and looked at the window, when a strange man suddenly swung into the room, breaking the window and taking out a handgun, shooting owen and ultimately killing him forever. the man was about to leave when keith darkly said, “what about me?”

the response was heavily hinted with an unknown accent.

“i had no instructions concerning you.”
“i hate you. you killed my uncle, my only family. you’re my enemy.”
“i have lots of enemies.”
“i’ll get you. it won’t be over until i get my revenge.”
“it’s over now, kid.”
“it isn’t. it hasn’t started.”
“and it never will. i’ll arrange for moen to pick you up. go to the academy. you belong in my world yet you should forget about me. i am a shadow not to be seen.”
“i don’t think i will. i’ll never forget your face.”
“... that is your choice.”
“...”
“... we will meet again.”
“we will, and i’ll kill you.”
“no, you won’t.”
“i will.”
“you never forget who you kill. the curse of an assassin. are you strong enough to stain your hands in blood and lock away the nightmares of those you killed? even i can’t.”

and the man flipped out of the window, a look of sadness upon his face as he looked at owen’s body one more time, and keith knew there was a strong relationship between the men, and that the other was an assassin of some sorts. why...

keith didn’t eat for a full six days. he sat on the floor, cuddled cecil for comfort and warmth, until he heard a welsh accented voice call from the hallway. cecil barked, and a welsh woman walked in, not alexandra moen at all for she was greek. she took one look at owen’s still body, unravaged by time yet, and said under her breath, “deceiving liar...” before she told keith to pack his things, for tournesolie awaited him.

shock... fear... pain... anger... the desire for revenge... madness... loneliness... that was all he felt in year two. he had nightmares every night, he had waking nightmares of a shadow of a figure stalking him, he kept remembering the assassin’s sad look, owen’s calm face, his readiness to die. why? he wanted to know the story...

... year three has started and the assassin is nowhere to be found.

iv. appearance. the shadow he sees in the corner of his eye, he thought it was conjured up by his mind, his imagination, but keith was wrong. mephiles, or rather, mephistopheles, is in fact his guardian, his ability to see his own guardian unknown and keith fears it. mephiles is a human shapeshifter, who can and will take on a horse. mephiles, in his human form, has an almost 'casanova' look to him, almost vampiric, with pale skin and glinting white teeth, clad in mostly black with sable black wings and wild purple hair, complete by startling violet eyes. the horse form takes on the name of ciaran, and is a pitch black thoroughbred horse with black hooves and a black mane and tail, complete with chocolate brown eyes, the only different colour on his body.
v. personality. mephiles used to be a destructive soul, corrupted by his own past and depression. he is mysterious, protective, a silent guardian who accidentally strikes fear into others by his appearance, his phantom appearances and ghost motions. nowadays he is solitary, a sensitive soul much like keith and quite stubborn too. intelligent and willing to give advice to his tamer, mephiles is free from the cage that used to hold him down, and he even hopes that his tamer is able to break the bars of the cage and be free, his true self, and to see the truth behind his father's death, which he keeps secret from the boy.

III. height & weight. riley stands at the height of four foot five inches (135cm) with a weight of four stone ten pounds (66 lbs).
IV. eyes. riley has deep purple eyes, however they are faded in colour. sometimes they will become a phantom steel blue.
V. hair. his hair is naturally brunet, and straight, with slight waves. it is also layered and almost touches his shoulders. he sometimes dyes it.
VI. other features. riley has a scar that he gained from an unknown source on his left shoulder blade, and another scar on his right shoulder, going down to his left hip. he sometimes wears stud earrings, and he wears contacts, however he will substitute those for glasses. his eyelashes are long and he has thin eyebrows, and he will also seem to have faint scars from battle upon his skin.
VII. dress style. riley prefers to wears jeans and a tshirt, but sometimes he will end up wearing his normal trousers and a shirt. when he goes to bed he often puts on a tank top and strips his lower body down to his boxers and sleeps in those. riley is also fond of waistcoats and will wear those, and you can always find a pair of gloves that don’t go over his fingers and reaching his elbow upon his hands. really, riley tends to throw on whatever he can, and he actually doesn’t mind dressing as a girl, but it does make him feel embarrassed.

VIII. overall personality. riley’s an odd person, due to having multiple sides of his personality, thus making him temperamental. he could be described as a knight – selfless, loyal, protective, caring. he is easily trusted. he’s sweet, too, and gentle. riley is very in touch with his feelings, and can easily adjust to a serious demeanour in a situation. he also can be quite solitary, only seeking comfort from whatever friends he has, and although he is more open lately, riley is still withdrawn and quiet at time. riley has a small fear of being abandoned.

the darker side was also present in his previous life as a japanese dragoon prince. when angered he threatens people and he will carry out those threats, and he’s violent, possessive too. he can also be quite vengeful, and is prone to almost sadistic tendencies. during this state, he has little tolerance for dire mistakes, and is very straight to the point. he also acts a bit more eccentric, appearing to be almost alien. riley doesn’t give second chances with this side, and takes his anger out on others by exploding with anger and coldness. after this state he will feel rather guilty and will become even more solitary.

iv. appearance. a small western dragon, kalseru's body doesn't seem to be rather streamlined but in fact it is. he has scales and skin of varying shades of blue, and his eyes are a deep purple colour. his claws are sharpened quite a lot and are pure white.
v. personality. like his owner, kalseru is rather temperamental, but he is mostly calm, determined, a true selfless dragon, protective over territory and friends alike, but also withdrawn, wishing no one to enter his deeper feelings without permission. in battle kalseru is violent, unwilling to be killed without taking someone with him, and he holds a great pride that is both his weakness and strength.
